Blazer Outfit Post!

Welcome to the season of Blazers! I love love a good boyfriend jacket they can be worn casually or dressed up with practically any style! Perfect for chilly summer nights and for crisp fall days. You must have one in your wardrobe...otherwise it is incomplete!

The boyfriend jacket is a bit slouchy, and a little longer than a classical blazer. You can pair a boyfriend jacket casually with jeans/shorts and a T-shirt, maybe a nice dressy top with leggings, or a dress. For myself, I paired my House of Sadia Boyfriend blazer with this gorgeous +BCBGMAXAZRIA Madison jumpsuit and the turn lock perforated waist belt! The Accessories consist of +Tory Burch Gold and Lime Green Wrist Cuff, a pair of +CHANEL Earrings, +Vince Camuto Nude Round toe Pumps. The Bag is my favorite fits so much but yet can be worn as a cross body; +Michael Kors Sloan Tote Bag. Absolutely love this look so chic and effortlessly put together and best of all its Comfortable!!!!

You can pretty much find any type of boyfriend jacket on the racks this season. From solids, colors, stripes, and preppie plaid. In regards to fabric, this season trendy boyfriend jackets are being made of anything from cotton, twills, and silks. The type of fabric dictates the look. Since I like to incorporate some of my rich Pakistani heritage into my look I made my own version of the boyfriend jacket; a silk jacket with jewel encrusted elbow patches made of silk weaved fabric native to Pakistan and India! The elbow patches and silk fabrics really dress up this jacket and I guarantee you can't find it anywhere except at The House of Sadia this version at least. This Jacket is featured in the photos above. Here is a gorgeous shot of our model Ifey rocking the House of Sadia Boyfriend Blazer with the embellished elbow patches! Looks absolutely Stunning!

All the top designers such as +DVF, Ralph Lauren, Nina Ricci, and much more... seem to show at least one or two boyfriend jackets in their spring lines.

Here is Cool Version by DVF:

As you can see the boyfriend jacket is versatile, easily layered with many looks. Making it a perfect evening spring/ summer look. So whether you choose a House of Sadia boyfriend blazer or any other designer it is a must have piece to add to your wardrobe. Happy Shopping!

East Meets West?

So what did everyone think of New York Fashion Week for 2013? Did you notice that the shows featured designers whose pieces resembled eastern inspired gowns, with rich eye catching embroidery and lush fabrics from chiffons to silks and tons of lace and tulle. +Dolce & Gabbana, Marchesa, Oscar De La Renta, along with Naeem Khan, all had pieces resembling Pakistani and Indian attire we already have as a part of our eastern wardrobe. What do you think of these Marchesa pieces? Look exactly like Eastern wear right?

I mean at this point what do you do can you look into your closets and pull out that gorgeous Anarkali suit or the latest gown you purchased following Eastern fashion and wear it to a special event? Well that depends. Since the Pakistani and Indian aesthetic can be a bit dramatic it is best to go with outfits that are either simple in print and moderately embellished or printed and minimally embellished. A combination of both is impossible to transition with US contemporary western wear, unless your are off to the +Oscars and your gown needs to be photographed. In reality I'm not really an advocate for all that print and embellishment, you will straight up look "Fresh Off the Boat". I'm a believer that your style should be a product of your environment, your culture, and your personality. I love the dramatic look but pops of it. May it be makeup, hair or your Anarkali dress make sure you make a statement but a classy and chic one, not too dramatic. In real life that just doesn't work! Here is a really cool piece I designed and named the Marchesa Gown, its basically a reverse ombré dip dyed gown with embellishments of real silver motives, pearls and silver stones. A great alternative to this Naeem Khan gown and conservative too!

Love that eastern inspired fashion is trending these days makes it so much easier to give yourself a unique look and hey it's easy on our pockets because essentially we live two lives!!! Happy Shopping Fashionistas. For more information about this gown visit Facebook House of Sadia! House of Sadia Website coming soon!

Spring 2013 Handbag trends

Hey ladies looking for the perfect spring bag? So many options out there and trends. It's great to follow trends- but one should be careful when investing in accessories like handbags. Why you ask? because let's face it, a good designer handbag costs as much as a monthly car payment or more, so investing wisely is very important! Pick a trend that is functional with your already existing wardrobe, so your investment actually brings you a return!

The two trends I fell in love with are the perforated and color block leather bags. Although these are Spring 2013 trends, these bags can be used for many years to come. The handbags I've selected are very classy and are in two budget classes; quality wise though they are pretty much similar so definitely worth the investment!

So the first bag I fell in love with is the Chloe Marci medium perforated shoulder handbag. Love love love this bag! But let's face if it isn't a special purchase or if you don't have tons of money just lying around this bag is a bit of a splurge priced at a whopping $2500!!! I mean isn't it beautiful you can definitely justify buying it one day it's a classic and the details are lovely! The bag can be purchased at +Saks Fifth Avenue.

There are alternatives though ladies! Check out Vince Camuto's version of the perforated drawstring shoulder bag! It's absolutely gorgeous looks just as classy and is very functional. Priced at $198- it's practically FREE! Also the quality is great so it will last and last and last! Both of these bags will get you the ooo's and aaaahhhh's you're looking for! This gorgeous rendition can be  purchased at +Nordstrom

The Other Trend that I fell in love with is the color block trend. This trend was started in 1965 by +Yves Saint Laurent and as you know fashion is recurring so this trend is back in full force! The two bags I absolutely fell in love with are, of course a Chloe Bag and a +Marc Jacobs Intl which is a Marc by Marc Jacobs Tote! Both handbags equally as lovely but totally different price ranges.

The Chloe Alice Leather Tote is a great rendition of the color block trend. Its very transitional into any wardrobe because of the color scheme and totes never go out of style!  However its definitely a splurge at $2,000.  But hey if you have worked hard enough to afford it then I say do it!  It can be purchased at any high-end department retail shop such as +Barneys New York or +Bergdorf Goodman! Apparently the celebrities love it too...Check out Jessica Alba rocking a white version with this gorgeous green ensemble!

However, ladies lets not get to upset because you definitely know that I will inform you with an alternative version so you don't have to dive into your savings to splurge a little! Check out this gorgeous version by Marc by Marc Jacobs. The Top Chicret Colorblocked Tote is very reasonably  priced at $498. This Tote is definitely worth the investment because Colorblocking will NEVER go out of style its a recurring trend that returns every few years!

All these handbags can be purchased at Nordstroms.com or at their retail department stores!

Happy Bag Shopping ladies!!!!

Spring where are you?

SOOO SPRING IS AROUND THE CORNER. Spring is a great time of year, I mean you don't have to wear winter coats and you can wear long maxi dresses and light jackets to cover up all that love and comfort you accumulated during the winter months. How great is that? Now ladies who doesn't love a great maxi dress. The key is to find one that is length and fit appropriate. I totally fell in love with this Maxi Dress by Saint Laurent from the Spring 2013 collection, this dress retails at about $2,500. I would love to buy this dress but then I would not be paying my mortgage this month. So, I was inspired to make my own version of it, with a lot of variations of course. This Dress is so dreamy I love it and it's culturally friendly as well. I always have a hard time finding dresses with the three C's: chic, comfortable and culturally friendly. The best part about this dress is that the "House of Sadia" retails it for much lower about $175. It is definitely a very different maxi dress and I styled it with more of a bohemian look whereas Saint Laurent styled it more Rocker Chic with the brimmed Hat. I will definitely be rocking my maxi dresses this spring and summer. This dress is being modeled by Hira Hussain, to give her that slight bohemian look   I paired the maxi Dress I designed with a +Michael Kors woven dark brown belt and of course +Nine West Gladiator Chocolate Brown Wedge Heels. Although, I would love to style it exactly as Saint Laurent did its just not practical to be running a business, accommodating my daughter's schedule and being a housewife in a Giant Brimmed Hat!! Here are some visuals for your eyes, left to right Saint Laurent and House of Sadia. Happy Maxi Hunting ladies :)

Look of the day!!

LOOK OF THE DAY!  This gorgeous +Dolce & Gabbana nude lace dress looks amazing on Jessica Biel isn't she glowing ;) What I love about pink undertones is they give you a soft romantic look, giving you a natural glow.  Jessica Biel added black pointed-toe heels and a +Fendi  clutch to the dress and loosely pulled back her locks. Completing that dreamy look.  Love it!

A post for the guys and what the ladies like to see them in.

This weather has been horrendous lately one day its warm and the next its windy and cold. In this scenario its really hard to dress to be comfortable, I mean if you bundle up, your sweating like your in the Caribbean in June and if you dare to put on to little your shivering like your a member of the polar bears club taking a dip in the Atlantic in February. So here are some alternatives I think men can wear to accommodate the constant change of weather. Shawl Sweaters and Partially Lined Blazers. Guys its all about layers. Wear that t-shirt you love, but remember to turn it into a fashion statement. Layer it up with a shawl cardigan or blazer. Shawl Cardigans are a perfect transition from winter to spring and even fall to winter. I first fell in love with this sweater when I saw the new James Bond Daniel Craig sporting it in Casino Royale. Boy did he look amazing! Although it was first made popular by Steve McQueen in 1951 the original cardigan was invented for Lieutenant General James Brudenell, the Seventh Earl of Cardigan. He wanted a sweater that wouldn't mess up his hair when he put it on. I guess his particular nature brought about an iconic piece, go figure! So you know what I did when I saw Daniel Craig in that sweater I went straight to +Kenneth Cole and bought the hubby a version of it! And of course he looks amazing in it! Here is a nice snap of him and I at dinner. Myself in: a House of Sadia Original and the hubster in a brown cardigan sweater by Kenneth Cole. A little side note this sweater is amazing for so many reasons. It elongates your torso because its form fitted and it gives some men that oomph they need in the shoulders area. Creates a wonderful silhouette. And, most of them are made of woven cotton which is very breathable and comfortable at the same time. Cardigans look amazing and very classy on guys.

Check out this great version made by +Tommy Hilfiger available +Macy's http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/tommy-hilfiger-sweater-aran-shawl-cardigan-sweater?ID=782900&cm_mmc=Google_Nongender-_-Apparel_Brands_PLA_Tommy+Hilfiger-_-48662409423-_-mkwid_jHUjy6OE

Can't forget about the Blazers, also a perfect transition from winter to spring. But you have to keep the lining in mind which can be very tricky. Sometimes the lining is made of thick satin, polyester or silk materials which can cause you to perspire like crazy when it gets warm! So your best option is partially lined blazers, I would invest in a blazer that is timeless, Black, Brown, Beige, Navy Blue and make sure it is made of great quality. For the trendy Blazer look more for style and sharpness since it wont be for long term use. Here are some great choices from +Banana Republic and +Uniqlo. The Blazer from Banana is partially lined and made of cotton. The one from Uniqlo is made of their breathable fabric especially designed by Uniqlo to absorb and breath, how cool is that! I gave my readers two options because if you look closely they both look exactly the same but are made of different fabrics and in different price ranges, hopefully everyone is able to purchase all these timeless pieces. Happy Shopping Guys!

Valentino Inspires Nine West

In case you were wondering what my shoes looked like up close. The inspiration for my footwear with this outfit stems from Valentino's vintage patent leather bow kitten heels. Valentino Adored by many and rightfully so. He built an empire that captures sophistication and femininity. A design genius, his collections are amazingly crafted, rich, and beautifully orchestrated. Which is why I know Nine West was inspired to create their own version of this iconic classic. Nine West. Named for its founding location in the Solow Building at 9 West 57th Street in New York City. Nine West is a fashion wholesale and retail company best known for quickly translating runway trends into styles attainable by mass consumers. Nine West has the amazing ability to give us runway trends without dipping into our savings. I'm sure a lot of you noticed there is no real trend in the heel anymore, its all about what you like and what suites your personal style and comfort level. Atleast, its like that for me anyways. These heels give you that arch you need and don't kill your feet at the end of the day. I really should be a spokesperson for +Nine West shoes because if you glanced in my closet you would know why! ;) Happy Feet are Healthy Feet.

Well well I found them in the slingback version and this pair was featured in +People StyleWatch! I own this pair to love it! (outfit up soon)

Bag Obsession

Bags, Bags and more Bags!!!! For my first post I’ve decided to talk about what made me fall in love with the Fashion world, Designer HANDBAGS! The time was High School Graduation when I received my first COACH BAG.  Unlike most women, I was more excited about the stitching detail and how the bag itself was constructed, then the actual designer name. (First Coach Bag)
I’ve come a long way from then, having a very eclectic senseof fashion, which I originally discovered during my middle school years.I like to surround myself with pieces, whether handbags, shoes or apparel, thatcan be used timelessly or limitlessly. Not everything has a time limit. While pursuing my merchandising degree, Ilearned that, just like history, fashion is recurring. The design and thedesigner can change, but the fashion always returns. Take, for example the Kaftans’.The celebrities donning them and the colors may change over time, but I don’t thinkthe piece itself will ever go out of style.  That is exactly what I intend to create, timeless fashion pieces.

Now, going back to my bagobsession….  Just recently, I fell in lovewith this cool electric bluecrocodile-embossed top-zip leather NewYork Bolt Around Tote bag made by Kenneth Cole. I’m absolutely obsessed with this bag because of manyreasons. The mainreason: I’m a woman who has to juggle being a full-timemother, doctor’s wife and a business woman 24/7. I need a bag that willlet me carry my whole life around and look extremely stylish at the same time. Now, I’m usually not a connoisseur of bright colors, butsince Black is such a huge color this Spring I was commanded to purchase apiece that will at least make it feel like Spring when it actually does warm uphere in the East Coast . See my transitional Winter to Spring look. Dress: ZaraTights: Jessica Simpson Earrings: Chanel Spring 2013 Shoes: Nine West PatentLeather Kitten Heels and of course my electric blue guitar! How much do you love this bag?
